LIFE JOURNEY
Caylee’s life journey has definitely been the road less traveled. Her path has been full of always going and doing - being very active. By age 5 she was water skiing and down hill skiing. She loved to ice skate, roller skate, skateboard, snowmobile, knee board and wake board. Her true passions were acting in local theatre (and church) and gymnastics.
Her cancer was located in her left ankle. She needed a below the knee amputation to save her life. The surgery was 3 months into the chemo plan. She was amputated Valentines Day 2017. Caylee did a back handspring on the family trampoline just a month after that surgery.
After chemo and finally returning home, she got back to competing in gymnastics. She competed that year on 1 leg only, in all 4 events. She medaled at regionals that March. Then, the next year she finally got a good prosthetic. It was November 2018. She learned how to take her prothetic to the limit and competed so well she qualified for Nationals in Orlando that year.

Activities
Caylee has relearned all the activities she loved before her cancer. Even though there has been many set backs with her prosthetic journey...She continues to push herself and pursue the things she enjoys doing. In the Wisconsin winters she loves skiing, snow tubing, snowmobiling and ice skating. During the summer Caylee is outside wake boarding, water skiing, tubing, and being on the ATV.
Cancer Awareness
During her 9 months at UW Children’s Hospital Caylee did many print, ad, mailings, online and in person campaigns to support UW Children’s Hospital with raising awareness for kids with cancer. Caylee did their annual radioathon to raise funds. She attended many UW Badger events for the "Bagers Support Kid's With Cancer" campaigns. She even did a back handspring on the field during a UW Badger Football game just 3 months after treatment. She has met many kids like her that battled cancer and lost friends she made during her time at UW Children’s Hospital because of cancer.
